When I told the boy we had been offered furniture to review I think his exact words were “Boring” and “Mummy stuff” So I showed him the website and I think that he was suitably impressed. I know that I have been impressed with everything about Lakeland Furniture. They have been a great company to deal with, with excellent delivery service and the quality of the bar stools we received have certainly not been a compromise despite the price.

We chose to try 2 Aruba Bar stools, from an amazing selection of designs and colours. I think there is something for everyone, and with a purple kitchen we thought it would be fun to try out green. The website is very easy to use, and if you are looking for a particular colour like we were you simply select your colour from the side bar and it will only show furniture available in the chosen colour. Each item has a detailed full description, again making it easy to see exactly what you need with pictures from all angles.

Our stools were £39.99 each and for this money I didn’t think the build quality would be as good as it is, with a  money back 30 day return and 2 year warranty you can’t go wrong.

I said I was pleased with the delivery service, I was asked which day I wanted delivery and from ordering this was 2 days. The night before I had a text confirming the day of delivery and also the following 2 attempts. On the day I was sent another text detailing a reminder and a code if I wanted to postpone to one of the other delivery dates. This is all in my opinion good customer service as I hate staying in all day only for nothing to turn up!

The box the stools arrived in was small as some assembly is needed but as you will see from our video, if a 7-year-old can do it then you shouldn’t have a problem. (I think I might have the next blue peter presenter on my hands, as I think his building guide is pretty comprehensive!)

We have been trying out the stools now for 2 weeks and everyone who has come round has had a demonstration from the boy on the gas lift! Everyone has commented on the quality and comfort, I am impressed as the boy can sit up for breakfast at the right height and daddy is happy as he can sit with his laptop in the evening and doesn’t get a sore bum. They are very easy to keep clean and just wipe with a damp cloth, I have had no problems with them marking or scraping my floor as they have a soft edge. Even when the boy drags them across the floor to get to the chocolate cupboard there are no problems. Overall I can’t fault this company on service or product, and believe me I am hard to please when it comes to customer service.

So for this reason we give the stools 5/5, and I hope they will be both practical and brighten up our kitchen for many years to come.

  1. I’m afraid the customer service I received was appalling. They have repeatedly bungled my delivery and demonstrate wholesale incompetence. It’s such a shame that the products are let down by shabby service

    1. That’s such a shame, as I had a problem with one of the chairs and even though they couldn’t replace the part, they were very good at replacing the whole chair for me. The delivery I received was very good, so I hope they have been able to sort out your delivery now.
