Pidy are an easy to use store cupboard ingredient that make a great starter for a dinner party, or a little treat for the family. We were sent a pack of 12 Zakouskis to try, and with the boys help, I set about making a small pre dinner snack. I didn’t have much in the fridge, but a small amount of cream cheese some finely chopped spring onions and a handful of coriander made a nice filling for these bite sized pastries.
The boy was very taken with these little finger foods and insisted he wanted the last few in his lunch box. We all agreed that the Pidy Zakouskis were a perfect bite sized starter, and could be filled with lots of different filling combinations. The cases came in a box of 12 and looked very neat set out on the plate. You can buy the range of Pidy pastry products from Amazon, and as they don’t need to be stored in the fridge, these are a perfect store cupboard stand by. We are looking forward to trying out the award-winning spoonette’s when I have been shopping. I think these will be nice as a pudding and will be investing in some strawberries to make them look pretty.
All the Pidy products are made with their award-winning pastry recipe that the Pidy family initially created in their little patisserie shop in Ypres, Belgium back in 1952. Pidy also have a range of innovative veggie cups range which are canapé cups that come in four flavours beetroot, carrot, spinach and celeriac. They are made with 30% real vegetable juice extract and no E numbers or artificial colours.

The filling sounds lovely, they would make a really nice change from sandwiches in a lunchbox I think.

They sound great and look really impressive too with not much effort.
These look lovely, really appetising. We enjoyed trying these too and it’s great when the children can help mix the filling.

I was surprised how easy it was as I am not very inventive, it was defiantly much easier than trying to cook this type of pastry from scratch!
