Have you got friends or family who have food allergy’s or intolerances. I know an increasing amount of people who have, even the boy I think has a slight gluten intolerance. So I was very interested to try out some of the ready meals from ilumi.
to create delicious, colourful, deeply flavoursome foods that our customers can trust, to make them accessible and convenient, and to spread the word about eating for wellness to the wider community.
We were sent red Thai chicken curry with yellow basmati rice, and a wheat free beer to try. First of all I have to say how impressed I am with the branding, as a visual person the pouches and even the box they were packed in were lovely colours and had a quality feel to them. I love that they think ingredients are important and should be on the front and not the back of the packaging. This makes it easy for me as an avid ingredients reader!
The curry was just what we needed after a family cycle ride in the afternoon, and I certainly wasn’t in the mood to spend hours preparing a meal. The curry cooked in two minutes and the rice in one, with another minutes rest. In just three minutes happy family! I think all of us were impressed with the quality and flavour of the ilumi products, and they certainly don’t compromise on taste. The boy did say he is not a red Thai curry fan and would like Indian curry more. He did eat all that was on his plate, so I think enjoyed it. Daddy M was impressed too, and was happy with the portion sizes.
ilumi have everything from soup and sauces to complete meals, and I can see this being very useful for anyone who has allergy’s. The website is also easy to use and with products from £1.00 to £3.50 and standard delivery free, which makes these meals comparable to those found in the supermarkets.
Disclosure: we were sent two curry’s with rice and beer, the opinions are our own and remain unaltered.
