Undead Pets, Flight of the Battered Budgie

Undead Pets, Flight of the Battered Budgie by Sam Hay is the latest in a series of books from Little Tiger Press This is the second of the undead series that we have read, the first, Night of the Howling Hound was very good and I was looking forward to seeing where the story was going now.

While the undead pets books are part of a series there is no need to have read any of the others. The stories are easy to follow and there is a catch up page at the front of this book so you are quickly up to speed.

Joe is just an ordinary boy until he makes a wish on a spooky Egyptian amulet… Now he’s the protector of undead pets…and there’s a bonkers budgie in a flap!

These stories follow the life of Joe, a typical boy except he has lots of weird undead pets talking to him. It doesn’t help that he is the only person who can hear these spooky animal zombies. His friends and family think he is getting a bit weird as they keep catching him talking to himself and he is always getting in trouble at school. Joes task is to find out how to put the budgie ghost to rest, will he manage it or will his friends find out his strange secret…

  1. A giraffe,I’d like to experience being tall, being only 5 feet I’ve spent my whole life being shorter than everyone else 🙁

  2. I’d be a bird – just love the idea of being able to fly! I’d be something small & speedy like a swift, and definitely a type of bird that flies away to the Med when it gets cold!

  3. a Chihuahua – Id be carried around in a bag, dressed in fashionable clothes – fed only the best pieces of cut chicken * My favourite! And probably sleep in a Four poster bed! Xx

  4. I’d love to be a dog just to see what it is they are thinking when they are looking at us with that quizzical expression!

  5. I’d be a Chimpanzee,as they are my favourite animals,and I could be as cheeky as I like,without getting into trouble!!haha

  6. A cat because they seem to have such a lovely life (well if they have nice owners!), sleep when they want, lay in front of the fire when they want, eat when they want etc etc xx
