Three Timeless Classics to give away

Thanks to The Book People for donating these three Usborne’s classic stories to giveaway.

The Story of Heidi

An evocative picture book perfect for introducing the classic tale of ‘Heidi’ to younger children. Orphaned Heidi is sent to live with her grumpy grandfather in the Alps, but soon grows to love the mountains. When she is taken to Frankfurt, her homesickness and a new friendship with a disabled girl called Clara lead to an extraordinary turn of events. With simple and engaging text accompanied by beautiful illustrations, this is sure to become a firm favourite.

The Gingerbread Man

A delightful picture book retelling the classic tale for younger children. Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch him, he’s the Gingerbread Man! But although he may be able to out-run everyone, can the Gingerbread Man outwit the cunning fox? The simple and engaging text is accompanied by gorgeous illustrations by Elena Temporin. Beautifully presented with a padded cover, this is an ideal gift for young children.

The Railway Children

An evocative picture book based on the classic E. Nesbitt tale. When their father is wrongly accused of spying, Bobbie, Peter and Phylis move out of London and experience new exciting adventures in the countryside. But will their father ever return. Warmly illustrated in vivid watercolours.

  1. The Faraway Tree Trilogy – I read with my 6 yo at bedtime and she was also reading in school. It was her step up from the books she was used to reading i.e. Julia Donaldson. Oliver Jeffers (we had over 100 books, that she recently sold on my FB selling page to buy some more books). You can’t beat reading with your kids to get their imagination and knowledge aroused.
