Today we are reviewing this fun new book, the Story of the World Cup by Richard Brassey from Orion Publishing RRP £4.99. This book is a great little fact book full of everything you might like to know about the game of football, and the World Cup which will dominate our TV in just one months time.
From the origins of the game in and how it got its name right up to the greatest World Cup scorers and famous players this is a great little book. I particularly love the little Mini story of Pickles and the stolen cup, I am sure that this book will keep even the non football lovers reading. I know the boy likes football, but cant understand his friends who are mad on it. But then I don’t think they understand how mad he is about Fencing!
So if your children want to find out more about the Story Of The World Cup, or even the previous book The Story of The Olympics, then why not pick up a copy. Here is the boy explaining what he likes about the book in his short Vlog, Enjoy.
If you would like the chance to help us celebrate Children’s Book Week and win a book to inspire your children, then we currently have a giveaway for How to catch a star, and Bing which you can enter from our review pages.
Disclaimer we were sent this book to review and keep, the opinions remain our own and have not been changed.
It would be quite interesting for me to read I think to get some of the history

That looks an excellent book for the price, and the sort of thing my teenage lads would have read cover to cover day after day when they were younger 🙂

We have this too as I am trying to get Little Mr A into football before the World Cup! It’s actually a really interesting read!

This looks great, a nice size and really bright and colourful. It seems perfect for children to learn about the world cup!
