Today I am reviewing and giving away Science 9+ one of the Help with Homework series from Autumn Publishing,
The market leader in the field of children’s activity and learning books, Autumn Publishing was formed in the late 1970’s and was acquired by the Bonnier Publishing Group in 1999. Based in West Sussex, the publishers aim to help develop children’s skills and abilities as part of the exciting process of growing up.
Autumn Publishing were kind enough to offer me a selection of books to giveaway including the Science Essentials 9+ Help with homework book. I have used this series of books before with the boy to help keep him occupied. I usually buy the maths books and this is the first science one I have looked at.
There are plenty of different level homework books for all KS1 and 2 and include subjects like Maths and English which you expect as well as handwriting spelling and telling the time. The help with homework books are all printed in nice easy to read fonts and although they are not printed in full colour (this one is purple) this makes me feel like I am not wasting so much paper if I throw them away when they are completed.
This science book has topics like diet, how an ear works and life cycles of animals. Thankfully it comes with the answers at the back, in case you have a subject you’re not familiar with! They also have a big page of motivational stickers which are full colour and can be added when a page has been completed. There are some great fun illustrations in this book, and I think it will be a great addition to the boys learning library.
This book has an RRP of £2.99 which I think is a bargain price, compared to other educational books I have bought which are usually £4.99 or more. Autumn publishing also have lots of other books in this price range so pop along and have a look at their website, Facebook, or why not chat to Owlbert on Twitter.
