Hotter Shoes at Chelsea

I was recently invited to a Hotter shoe party in Horsham by BakesBooksandMyBoys which got me very excited as I never treat myself to anything! This was going to be my first experience of Hotter shoes, and after a warm welcome and a few nibbles I set about browsing the store.

I decided to have my feet measured, as I can’t remember the last time I did this, and after some trying on and great advice from the staff discovered that I have strange feet. Although I am a standard six, due to a low ankle bone and narrow heels a five and a half or narrow fitting was a much better fit. I was very impressed with the patience and of the Hotter store staff as I spent an hour trying to find the right shoes. Only slightly disappointed that they didn’t have the chosen ones in stock, they offered to have the shoes ordered and delivered to my home.

Leaving with an empty bag, was a little strange, but I was assured they would arrive shortly. I was excited that I would no longer be a hotter shoe virgin. Sure enough after about 10 days my shoes arrived, I had chosen Quake in Mauve Nubuck (although I think they look more of a soft pink). They fitted perfectly and had arrived just in time for me to set them the ultimate test a day out at Chelsea Flower show.

Chelsea flower show was the perfect test of all the Hotter shoe claims, comfort, style and adventure! There was no slipping about on the tube as the touch fastening kept them in place. They certainly had style and looked so much nicer than my trainers. I saw so many people as they left changing out of their shoes into something more comfy. I didn’t have too, as the Hotter shoes have millions of little bubbles in the soles to keep your feet comfy. It certainly was a long day on my feet, and with plenty of walking I made it home with happy feet, and a camera full of fantastic flower pictures.

With Mothers day at the end of the week, chocolate is always on my list so I asked to be sent a surprise gift. I was sent the Chocolate Temptations Hamper, and it came in a beautifully decorated and packed box. The contents had been carefully placed so that when you open the box you can clearly see all the contents. The hamper contained a box of truffles, a box of chocolates, meringues, fudge, two tubs of chocolate covered nuts and one of ginger. With a RRP of £39.99 the Chocolate Temptation hamper is currently discounted by five pounds to £34.99, so great value, with free next day delivery. I was impressed at how well the Serenata Flowers hamper had arrived undamaged, and looking very pretty in its blue striped box.

I was keen to see if the flavours were as good as the packaging so started with the chocolate ginger which is an absolute favourite of mine and the little pot of ginger in the Serenata hamper didn’t disappoint on flavour. The more fiery the better and this ginger had a great spark to it. The chocolates taste good and I love the little personal touches of ribbons and bows on each of the gifts in the hamper.
Looking through the Serenata website I found plenty of choice making it difficult to find a favourite item, and I love that you can add personal touches to make your Serenata gift truly unique.

Moonpig British Flowers – Review

Moonpig British Flowers are a range of Summer inspired bouquets which can be delivered direct to you or your loved ones door. I will confess to loving flowers in my garden, and not so much in a vase. I think this is in part to having a very unromantic husband, and a lack of flower arranging abilities. It’s therefore all the more special to receive flowers and when Moonpig sent me their new British Happy Days bouquet I was very thrilled with the flowery treat. I was interested to see from a receivers point of view from ordering how quickly and efficiently the flowers arrived. The box arrived next day, and was in perfect condition. The flowers were very cleverly packed and not a single broken flower head.

I was amazed for the price of £25 what good value the British Happy Days bouquet was. The flowers were all in bud so took a couple of days to start looking their best, but with so many of my favourite flowers I was very impressed. The bouquet includes, sunflowers, asters, stocks and my favourite snapdragons!

I have to say that I had never thought of the airmiles incurred by flowers, and as all the Moonpig British bouquets are home-grown it can only be a good thing to support our farmers, and cut down on the environmental impact. Moonpig have a great assortment of all British grown flowers in their range, suiting budgets from £25 to £40.Moonpig also include a free card with each order, not only represent good value, but that nice personal touch wich I am always looking for in a gift.

Happy Days Bouquet from Moonpig

I will of course be dropping a few hints to Dad Dragon in the hope that I receive a few more flowery surprises in the future, and thanks to Moonpig for my lovely flowers, which are still brightening my dining room table.

Disclaimer, I was sent a bouquet of flowers in return for an honest review, the opinions are mine and have not been altered.

Beautiful Flowers

When I was offered some beautiful flowers to brighten my day I could hardly say no, and when they arrived I was a little disappointed that they didn’t look too happy. I followed the instructions and popped the roses in hot water for an hour, and fed the lilies. Now look, a week later and they are blooming their little socks off!

Beautiful flowers

I love beautiful flowers especially if they are blooming in my garden, there is something really special about growing something from a really tiny seed, then seeing it full-grown. Sometimes I even pick a few flowers and pop them on my kitchen windowsill or dining table.

I have always enjoyed gardening, and had mixed results from growing from seed. There was the time I planted carrots and one popped up. Or the time I planted suede and 200 popped up! I did well with sweet corn in the first year, but no luck since. I have had the same luck with flowers, and it seems all or nothing. Sutton Seeds have a fantastic range of seeds to choose from. This year I couldn’t resist having a go at growing some new flowers. Yes The Soup Dragon is going to grow some Clangers, which are actually Dahlia’s. I can’t say I am confident, but I am sure it will not be the fault of the seeds. If I don’t have some amazing blooms to show for my efforts it wont be because of Suttons seeds as they have over 200 years of garden expertise.

suttons seeds

If like me you like healthy ready to go plants, without the hassle, I think their range of plug plants look like a great alternative. Suttons Seeds also sell plenty of soft fruit plants and even fruit trees which you can have sent direct to your home address with a reasonable postal charge and lots of special offers. We have some great fruit plants in the garden, including red and black currants, and I like to try out unusual plants too like my Pineberry’s (white strawberry’s).

This year I will be having one last try to grow from seed, then I think that buying my plants in will have to be a serious consideration! Wish me luck growing my Clangers, and why not have a look at Suttons Seeds website for some great garden plants for all gardening abilities!

Disclaimer I was sent some flowers in return for this post.
