The Spiderman ReadyBed box comes with everything you need, with a clever bag design the whole bed rolls up and includes the foot pump. The boy was excited as he loves camping, and this bed looked perfect for him. Although the boy is at the top of the age range height wise ( up to 150cm) the bed proved very comfy, and perfect for sleep overs or odd nights away in the tent.

We set about inflating the bed which is done by attaching the foot pump to the valve at the pillow end of the bed. I found the valve awkward at first, but once I discovered it has a quick release to allow you to deflate the bed quickly we were ready. The bed inflated slowly, as the pump is quite small but the boy was capable of doing this on his own. You are advised not to inflate the till its hard. Simply inflate till the bed is soft but comfy. The bed doesn’t go down either as we have had ours pumped up for over a week.

The boy was impressed with the Spiderman ReadyBed and was keen to put it through its paces, he says

I like that it has a pillow and I cant fall out of it as it has a zip up the side. I was very comfy and didn’t wake up all night. I could fit my cuddlies in too and we all slept well.

I don’t know why we hadn’t come across ReadyBeds before as this will be perfect for the summer garden sleep outs, and certainly a lot more comfy that the boys bed roll. The cover is very easy to remove with simple Velcro fastenings. The Spiderman ReadyBed is all in one piece, and can be washed in a machine at 30 degrees. When you are finished with the ReadyBed simply pull out the clever double valve, and roll the bed back into the in-built bag. The Spiderman ReadyBed is perfect if you have very little space for spare mattresses, don’t have a spare room or your kids love to have friends to stay.

The Spiderman ReadyBed is just one in a range of Junior and toddler beds, with themes from Disney planes, Monsters University, and Minnie mouse. So there is something for everyone, and with a range of adult sized ready beds, I think I might be persuaded to give them a try myself!

A Grand Adventure

Have you ever dreamed of packing up your suitcase, heading off on holiday and staying away for as long as possible for the adventure of a lifetime? Well now you can by entering our competition ‘A Grand Adventure’.

This is the opening line to a competition I came across a couple of days ago and it has got me thinking! What would I do with if I won £1,000 and could go anywhere in the world. I suppose the first question is would I go on my own or who would I take? I can’t imagine traveling alone, so I would have to take my other half and my son.

Next £1,000 (not including the cost of flights) is not going to last very long unless you are careful, so its a good job I get called Dell boy! So where to go? I have been looking at holidays but have decided that this year my roof is going to come first, so no foreign holiday. Now that I have found this competition I find myself dreaming and browsing through holiday sites once more…
I have always fancied Sardinia, and I love all of the places in Italy that we have visited, but no that seems to touristy…Next I thought cold, how about the Northern lights, that would be simple out of this world. Hmmm thinking about it the boy and I don’t really do cold…My mind keeps wandering back to Florida. I can’t explain why I have such a love of this American state. Its touristy, and even tacky in places, but it also has a hidden side, one that if you are willing to poke about you find hidden behind the brightly painted rollercoaster and thrill rides.

Hidden Florida it is!

For a start the three of us would fly into Orlando the Theme park capital, and hire ourselves a nice little run around. A Chevrolet Aveo for the month for just half the budget that would be the best way to get around. With petrol a whole lot cheaper than the UK I think we will be have plenty left to get all the way down the west coast of the state and drop our little motor back to Miami Airport on our way home.

So the first stop on the tour be Beverly Hills, yes that’s correct there is a place in Florida with that name, with lots of campsites I think we would have to pick up a tent and rough it for a few nights. It is the sunshine state and I don’t think we would get cold at night. This part of the state is known as the Citrus county, with plenty of places to explore. I know that my son would love to see Manatees so a visit to Welcome to Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park a lovely place to stop, and even spend the night.

Next would be Clearwater, as I have always wanted to watch the sunset over the Gulf. Also this is the home of Winter the dolphin from the film a dolphins tale. It would be great to see the dolphin that this film is based on as my son loves dolphins so much I think this would be a moment he remembers forever.

A quick hop down to Cape Coral and over to Pine springs, with its untouched beauty and the Cayo Costa state park. Luxury with a primitive cabin on the island, which is only accessible by boat. Snorkelling with the local wildlife and then fishing for our tea, we could feel like we are on our own private island. Then sitting round the campfire in the evening toasting marshmallows with the locals.

Next stop Naples, with its sun drenched beaches and time for a spot of relaxation maybe even the odd sancastle or two, but just a holiday wouldn’t be the same without one!

How about some more adventure and off to see the real Everglades with Captain Steve kids ride free, and alligator’s are a guaranteed!

It’s just a short hop across on I75 through the Big Cypress National Preserve to Fort Lauderdale and then down to Miami. Stopping off at Miami Zoo. “I wonder if it has changed much since we last visited 14 years ago on our honeymoon?

Our final destination before home Sunny Isles, north of the centre of Miami, and I would treat my family to a night in one of the many cheep motels and maybe a big pile of maple waffles from the waffle house. Lets face it we wont be going hungry on our trip as we can make one American meal easily do three little British people easily!

Returning home would be hard, I love this sunshine state and would love to live there, but at least I have had the chance to sit this afternoon and dream. If you get the chance to go to Florida, visit the theme parks but PLEASE don’t forget the hidden side of Florida.
